Making The Switch

Today at work some of my co workers were talking about animal products in our daily household items. Now, I knew that such thing did exist. However, I did not know to what extent or what kind of animal products were used. I see it this way, if I have not died or have become seriously ill then I can assume that these animal products are safe for human consumption. Well I did a little research on what kind of animal products are located in some of the daily items that we use and, I was surprised! How many of us use toothpaste, conditioner/shampoo, body soap, fabric softner, and sugar? {these are just some items}

Here is a list of things that are in the items that we use and or eat in our lives. {Warning! You may be disgusted} Did you know that some sugar companies use ash from animal bones in filters to refine sugar? Yup, just read something on it and you can find that here

Do you know what's in your daily products?

We have made the decision to go a bit more natural when it comes to the products that we use. This change is not going to happen overnight. It will be a process of elimination for us. If I could I would change everything tonight but, I realized that after living with the items that I use daily for as long as I've been alive it will be a little hard to get use to new change. During this process I will be replacing the "bad items" with more "natural items" and I will be keeping some sort of a log to see if there is a difference in how we feel after switching. I am also going to be making some of my own household products. I will be listing these recipes under the organic tab on the blog if you are interested in learning how to make your own.
