Gifford Pinchot State Park

September 10, 2012
Our drive to the cabin was not bad, no traffic. The only issue we had was there were a lot of hills driving up the park, and the dog got sick, threw up all over his blanket. We arrived at out cabin in Gifford Pinchot Park around 235pm. Just pulling into our parking spot next to our cabin, we could already see that our view was spectacular. Unlocking the cabin door, expecting it to look like Ohiopyle State Park cabin and once again surprised by what the interior looked like we looked at each other and smiled. When your destination feels like home its plus, but when your view is amazing on top of that, you have nothing but perfection! My husband and I did not expect the best outcome out of this camping trip.
We unpacked everything and started making dinner on the grill while we sat lakeside with our music playing softly and enjoyed our view. After dinner we didn’t do much. We decided to start a fire in the fire ring and sit outside until all the wood burned out. That is exactly what we did. Inside the cabin we turned on the laptop and watched a comedy that we brought from home.

We woke up around 9:00am to a beautiful light fog over the lake and the sun rising to the right of us. After showers and breakfast we decided to find the trail that took us to the other side of the lake. Lakeside trail was our trail and on our way around the lake we saw some nature. We found the park, and a canoe and boat rental place. I really wanted to watch the sunset in a boat on the lake but the rental place was closed. Bummed so we took the trail back to our cabin. We ended up taking a nap for about an hr. After we woke up we sat lakeside until dinner time, after dinner time, and enjoyed the scenery our last night.
